Berlin’s theatre scene is as legendary as it is diverse. Our online portal Berlin Bühnen (Berlin Stages) provides you with a unique overview of events.
The legendary venues and countless theatres, performance spaces and dance troupes that comprise Berlin’s independent scene contribute significantly to the city’s vibrant artistic life. Our portal BERLIN STAGES showcases the shows and line-ups at more than 70 theatres, opera houses, concert halls, cabaret and comedy stages, young people’s theatres and alternative stages. We provide the easiest and most comprehensive way to access information about Berlin’s theatre scene as well as book tickets for individual performances. The PODEWIL cultural site in Berlin-Mitte, which also happens to be where our offices are located, comprises many stages, workshop rooms and event spaces. The Podewil hosts initiatives and festivals in the sphere of cultural education on a regular basis. Together with our partners, which include GRIPS, TANZZEIT, ERZÄHLZEIT, TUSCH and TUKI, we are well on our way to establishing the Podewil as a key centre for cultural education in Berlin. In addition, our INTERVENTIONEN Festival provides refugees a stage upon which to create and bring their unique ideas, approaches and viewpoints to a wider urban public. Yet another of our members is the SCHAUBUDE BERLIN, an internationally oriented venue for the “Theatre of Things”. Its programme line-up comprises the different aesthetic signatures involved in the realm of contemporary puppet, figure and object theatre.
