Berlin 365/24 We created “BERLIN 365/24” to spotlight the full breadth of the city’s cultural diversity and creativity in all areas from mainstream to niche. 20th Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall In 2009, the yearlong celebrations marking the "20th Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall" attracted an audience of millions and pushed Berlin to the forefront of worldwide attention. 25th Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall Highly moving images from the key event marking the anniversary were seen by an audience of more than a million people in Germany and abroad. 30th Anniversary of the Peaceful Revolution – Fall of the Berlin Wall For seven days at seven original historical sites, Berlin remembered, celebrated and paid tribute to the Peaceful Revolution and those individuals who had the courage to resist the regime of the GDR. 50th Anniversary of the Building of the Berlin Wall We joined with the Berlin Wall Foundation to pay tribute to the victims of the Berlin Wall and the division of Germany in a very special way. 75th Anniversary of the End of WWII Berlin commemorated the end of WWII and the liberation of Europe from Nazi dictatorship with a week of theme-based digital events. 100th Anniversary of the Bauhaus in Berlin For Berliners, the city-wide week of Bauhaus-themed events under the banner “bauhauswoche berlin 2019” was the highlight of the nationwide celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of the legendary art and design school. 100th Anniversary of the 1918/19 Revolution in Berlin This joint city-wide project brought the epoch-making power of the 1918/19 Revolution to the streets of Berlin. 125th Anniversary of Ku’damm Boulevard The 125th anniversary celebrations paid homage to the fashionable “showcase of the West” and brought a new shine to the Ku'damm. Day of German Unity, Berlin 2018 Over the course of three full days, Berlin joined with hundreds of thousands of people to celebrate 28 years of unity and freedom in Germany and Europe. Science Year 2010 With five of the most important science institutions marking key anniversaries, we celebrated Berlin as a capital of research and knowledge.
